What "Skilled" Actually Means
NVQ2 qualification means formal, assessed training in surface preparation, paint application, wallpapering and finishing techniques - not just experience picked up informally. It is the qualification we look for and hold ourselves, alongside membership of the Painting and Decorating Association.
Where Skill Makes the Biggest Difference
Skill matters most on the jobs that are hardest to get right: cutting in clean lines without tape, hanging patterned wallpaper, and achieving an even paint finish on large, light-exposed walls where every roller mark shows.
